Ruto Surprises Pupils of Collapsed School Ahead of KCPE Exams

Deputy President William Ruto on the morning of Wednesday, October 30, made a surprise visit to KCPE candidates of Precious Talent Academy who are sitting their exams at Ngong Forest Primary School.

Through his social media page, DP Ruto stated that he was at the institution to wish the learners well and to supervise the distribution of KCPE Science papers.

The impromptu visit by Ruto came almost a month after pupils from Precious Talent were transferred to Ngong Primary School through a directive by Education CS George Magoha after the school was closed following a tragedy that left eight dead.

On September 23, 8 pupils from Precious Talent School in Dagoreti North were crushed to death after a classroom wall collapsed on them.

In his address to the candidates, the DP assured the pupils that he was there to personally ensure they comfortably sat for their exams.

"You've been in school, you've learned something and all of us are looking for wonderful results from you guys. We are confident as your parents, your teachers as well-wishers that the eight years you've been in Ngong Forest School and Precious Talent were well spent," Ruto stated.

The DP also urged the pupils to be at ease and avoid anxiety as they sat for their exams.

"We want you to relax. This is just but an exam. You have done the exams before. Every term. Every year. Your teachers have done a good job. And you too have done a good job. You shall post good results." the DP encouraged.

To the teachers of Ngong Forest Primary School, the DP gave his gratitude for hosting pupils from Precious Talent.

"Thank you for creating space for pupils of Precious Talent. That is the true spirit of friendship and the true spirit of love," he thanked.

"Those of you who came from Precious Talent, this may not be the environment you were used to, but these are your brothers and sisters and this is the environment you'll sit for the main exams. So relax," the DP advised.

Ruto concluded his address to the pupils by wishing all the candidates in the country success in the ongoing KCPE exams.
