Citizen TV Sued for Airing Damning Revelations on Jeff Koinange's Show

Joseph 'Joe' Mwangi on Wednesday, October 30, sued Royal Media Services Managing Director Wachira Waruru.

The lawsuit filed by his lawyer, Kevin Kinengo Katisya of  K.K Katisay & Co. Advocates, went on to state that Joe was seeking an apology and admission of liability in relation to the Wendy Waeni interview that was aired on Jeff Koinange's JKL show on August 7, 2019.

"Malicious misstatements, injurious falsehoods and slanderous utterances against Mr Joseph Mwangi Nduta alias Joe Mwangi affecting his personal official and professional reputation," read the reference section of the notice letter.

Waeni's interview had caused quite stir across the country after she claimed that Joe had exploited her and used her skills as a gymnast for personal financial gain.

Joe, who served as her former manager was arrested on September 2 in connection with forgery and threatening Wendy’s mum Magdalene Mbele.

Speaking on behalf of his client, Mr Katisya went on to explain that the former manager's image was compromised beyond repair after Citizen TV aired the damning interview.

"Our client who works as a celebrity or artist agent has suffered irreparable damage through your actions and your failure to control and/or to stop the show from airing," read an excerpt of the notice letter.

Joe further claimed that he had suffered extreme depression as a result of cyberbullying and countless threats to his life.

He went on to issue the giant media station with a 7-day notice to respond to the notice as well as send out an apology and admission of liability, going on to state that failure on the part of RMS would result in an institution of legal proceedings against them.
