Swarm of Bees Forces KCPE Candidates to Abandon Exams Midway [VIDEO]

Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates in a school in Lamu County were, on Wednesday, October 30, forced to abandon an exam after they were attacked by bees.

Omar Anofally, a headteacher from Markaz Al-Habib Swaleh, told the press that they were 20 minutes into the Insha exam when the bees attacked the institution paralysing the exercise.

Tens of students were stung by the bees in the bizarre incident that saw one of them rushed to King Fahad Hospital.

He further disclosed that the swarm first attacked one of the invigilators before moving on to the rest of the school.

"The examination process was smooth from Tuesday, October 29, start until today (Wednesday, October 30) at around 2:20 p.m. during the Insha exam.

"We heard noise emanating from one of the exam rooms and upon inquiry, we discovered that a swarm of bees had attacked one of the invigilators," narrated Anofally.

"The police attempted to save the woman but were attacked as well. The bees attacked all the classes," he continued.

The students were later transferred to a neighbouring girls' school where they finished their paper at around 4:30 p.m.

One of the candidates, Ali Omar, lamented about how the attack disoriented some of the students.

"We stayed in the exam room for long and some of my colleagues' thought processes had been disoriented by the attack," remarked Omar.
