KTN News presenter Tony Gachoka, on Sunday, November 10, was left with an egg on his face after putting up a spirited attack against Deputy President William Ruto.
In a nearly incoherent rant online, Gachoka insinuated that the DP exploited his office in what he termed as looting sprees.
He further claimed that Ruto fielded former soccer star McDonald Mariga in Kibra so as to destroy the handshake.
"The thief of public resources loots Kenya, does 400 Harambee because he is DP.
Ruto doing ‘development’, goes into Baba’s bedroom by chopper, Rekke Squad, and poor Mariga to destroy Handshake and fails. Ahmednassir Abdullahi congratulates him then you know why Kiambaa, Kasarani thugs are free," posted Gachoka.
Abdullahi, a lawyer who was also mentioned in the tweet, however, did not leave anything to chance and hit back at Gachoka with an attack at his employer.
The lawyer claimed that the show presenter would never be taken seriously and questioned the wealth that was used to acquire the Mombasa Road-based station.
"My good friend Tony will only be taken seriously when he invites his Boss Gideon Moi and interviews him for 5 hours live on KTN and asks him questions like. 1. Did the money that bought KTN came from Goldenberg? 2. How many billions were stolen by the Moi men? and 1000s of questions," responded Abdullahi.
Other users blasted the media personality accusing him of fuelling hatred and animosity against the DP.
"This is pure hatred, you are fueling, animosity, remember DP has followers, what's the relationship between Kiambaa and Kibra? Why revisit the past?... Now you ought to be tamed by the government," suggested Elijah Kiplangat.
