Tony Gachoka Breaks KTN News Protocol for Special Guest

KTN News presenter Tony Gachoka, on the night of Wednesday, November 6, changed his show's script and undertook a different approach upon a special request by his guest.

The guest, Jerotich Seii, a fierce activist, had requested that the show be aired live so that some of her points are not edited out.

She further requested more time from the station to allow her to articulate her points without being interrupted to get the message across.

"So today Tony Gachoka is taking a risk because I have Jero here, a woman of substance and she is telling me, "Give me time. Kenyans claimed that you were going to edit me," so now it is live, it is not edited," obliged Gachoka.

In all his previous shows, some of which were hosted at Serena Hotel, the interviews were recorded prior to air date.

In the course of the interview, Seii revealed that the Ministry of Energy was rotten and advised President Uhuru Kenyatta to open investigations into it.

"I have told President Uhuru, 'zima ma cartel' (stop cartels). Go into the ministry of energy, look and see what is going on, these allegations against the cabinet secretary and principal secretary ensure that you are not invested or vested in these energy companies," stated Seii.

In previous interviews, the activist brushed shoulders with some high ranking government officials including a time she castigated Jubilee government for their high appetite for Chinese loans.

She took aim at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs claiming that it was not entirely honest with the dealings it partook with other countries.

The comment she made on live TV, however, did not sit well with Foreign Affairs PS Ambassador Macharia Kamau who labeled her as "foolish".
