Sonko Discloses How He Was Forced to Strip at EACC [VIDEO]

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko gave a detailed account of what he termed as harassment at Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) offices.

Speaking on Saturday, November 16, at City Park Estate in Parklands, Nairobi, the governor brought to light the kind of reception he got at Integrity Centre on the November 5, dramatic summon.

"They should uphold respect, last time, I respectfully showed up after they summoned me and they harassed me," he began.

Sonko narrated that the officials thoroughly frisked him and even demanded that he remove his shoes to which he did not object.

They, however, took it a notch higher, unzipped his trousers for further frisking, which the governor felt was an infringement of personal space.

"Walinifungua zip, wanaeka mashini kwa sehemu nyeti (they unzipped my trousers and used machines on my private parts) to check if I was hiding a camera," an angry Sonko lamented.

This was after the summon that went wrong after his supporters, most of whom were Boda Boda riders, clashed with police at Integrity Centre.

"They removed my socks and shoes like I was a prisoner. When they brought that screening machine close to my face pushed it away," the angry county boss narrated.

Sonko further disclosed that his ministers would not honour the summon by the commission.

"My ministers are not going to honour that summons, they have to write to us again, and we are already in court blocking them from doing a witch hunt," the governor dared.

The vocal governor also called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to disband EACC on the basis that it was corrupt

On Monday, November 4, Sonko had claimed that an EACC official was out to frustrate him due to his sustained fight against land grabbing in Nairobi.

He had gone ahead to buy full-page ad space in The Standard to lament over how EACC's Director of Investigations, Abdi Mohamud had allegedly misused his office to cover-up crimes.

The governor stated that he feared for his life upon meeting the EACC officials. However, he asserted that he would honour their summon.
