Jubilee MP Schooled on Live Radio For 'Disrespect'

In a morning show interview at Kass Fm on Wednesday, November 19, Bahati MP, Kimani Ngunjiri, found himself on the receiving end, after a rattled listener called in condemning him for disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta and ruining the relationship between him and Deputy President William Ruto.

The caller who only referred himself as Spika wa Bunge la Mwananchi took Ngunjiri head-on, accusing the entire Tanga Tanga team of misleading the deputy president into creating a rift with President Kenyatta.

“You're one of the MPs who are moving around speaking carelessly and damaging the relationship between the president and the deputy president,” remarked the caller.

“You pretend to be acting loyal but what you are doing is bringing the deputy president down. There is no respect left for the presidency from the Tanga Tanga team as every one of you is trying to buy loyalty from DP Ruto," added the caller.

The caller went ahead to challenge the parliamentarian accusing him of only being vocal in public rallies but silent during National Assembly sessions.

“You talk too much during highly-attended political rallies but when you get to Parliament you remain silent. I challenge you to show me any tangible contribution you’ve had in Parliament for the good of Kenyans rather than politics,” continued the caller.

The MP was also tasked with the question of his great opposition to the Building Bridges Initiative report, the caller accusing him of speaking about a report that has not even been released to the public.

“The president confessed not to have read the BBI report during the recent Mt Kenya meeting at Sagana. Who are you to know its contents before the president does? Kenyans are not stupid and they can wait for the report to decide without influence from any leader,” remarked the caller.

The Bahati MP who was already tongue-tied only replying by accusing the caller of having incorrect information.

Kimani Ngunjiri has recently been in the limelight showing open support for the Tanga Tanga faction of Jubilee Party that is a radical defender of DP Ruto accusing the president of neglecting his deputy after the handshake.

On November 13, the MP addressed the media in Parliament where he rubbished the BBI report indicating that Kenyans were suffering due to corruption and the tough economic times that needed to be given priority.

During the press conference, the MP accused the government of being fixated on the BBI at the expense of working towards lessening the suffering of Kenyans.
