K24 Journalist Dies in Accident on Way to See Newborn Baby [PHOTOS]

Update: Vehicle that plunged into the gorge retrieved. The recovery operation by the multi-agency took four hours.

The head of news directors at K24 TV, Daniel Chemjor, on Wednesday evening, November 20, died after being involved in a horrific accident in Baringo County.

Chemjor is said to have been headed to Kabarnet from Eldoret when his vehicle veered off the road while approaching the Kerio River bridge before rolling and falling into a deep gorge.

Elgeyo Marakwet County Commissioner  Dr. Ahmed Omar confirmed that he was the only one in the vehicle.

"Since he has been there since 11pm, it almost certain that we have lost him," he stated.

Chemjor was on his way to see his wife who had delivered a newborn baby through the cesarean delivery.

Police, according to Citizen Digital, are said to have arrived shortly after midnight and tried to retrieve the rubble but could not do much since it was dark.

Retrieval of the body is currently ongoing.
