If Martha Karua Won Ksh10 Billion Here's What She'd Do First

To many, Martha Karua, the NARC-Kenya Party leader has for years been referred to as the iron lady of politics in Kenya.

In a November 23, 2019 video posted on Twitter by Mercy Kyallo, sister to K24 TV anchor Betty Kyallo, Martha Karua shelved her usual tough nature.

Mercy started the conversation with a light question, trying to probe Martha’s fantasies.

“If you won 100 million dollars today, what would be the first thing to do,” asked Mercy.

Martha, who appeared to be in a good mood, narrated how she would use such a huge amount of money.

“My first thought is that I would go on holiday and also use the money to do something that would help generate more,” answered Karua.

“I would prefer making a visit to Seychelles for a good time. This would help me have some time to think of what to do with the cash,” added the tough politician.

On her side, Mercy indicated jokingly of a rather serious way to use the fictitious Ksh10 billion.

“I would use the money to pay for my M-Shwari,” jokingly remarked Mercy as Martha proceeded to explain the importance of rewarding oneself.

The clip also got the attention of Mercy's sister, Betty who wrote, "The one and only power woman Martha Karua together with my Sister who's making boss moves. Thank you, Martha, for the sweet shout out.”

Karumba the Great commented, “The only iron lady, we miss her in Parliament.”

Martha Karua has been a long-serving lawyer-cum strict politician, who represented Gichugu Constituency until 2013.

Karua also led the Ministry for Justice and Constitutional Affairs until her resignation in 2009, during the Grand Coalition Government.
