Female MP Desperately Crosses Flooded River After Abandoning Car [VIDEO]

A female MP was over the weekend forced to abandon her car and wade through a flooded river.

In a video and photos on her Facebook account on Sunday, November 24, Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami found herself in a desperate situation where she had to walk against the river's raging water.

The legislator and her entourage had to leave their vehicles as the bridge was completely engulfed by the river's water.

Acknowledging that it was a difficult task to complete following the heavy rains experienced in her area, The MP was thankful for being able to cross over safely.

"Finally, we made it. Glory and honour to our almighty God. Thank God for Journey mercies.

"It’s a long journey but our strong faith and trust in God we made it. Always follow your dream without turning back, with God everything is possible. Faith can move mountains. Always count your blessings one by one. It’s an experience and a half," she wrote on her FaceBook.

It wasn't established which river had flooded and the exact location of the bridge, but other road users appeared to struggle to get across the river.

A passenger bus had to be pulled by a tractor as other vehicles carefully manuevered to make it across avoiding being swept away by the river's persisent current.

Here is the video of the Woman Representative's Vehicle crossing the flooded bridge:
