Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have launched a manhunt for a man who was caught on camera beating a female guard.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 26, the DCI condemned the act, adding that officers were looking for the suspect Justus Kamoja.
"We are already narrowing down on the perpetrator. Meanwhile, the lady security officer has been called upon to make a formal report in pursuit of justice. We greatly condemn such violence against anyone in the course of their duty,” DCI stated.
On Monday, November 25, Kenyans were left gutted after a CCTV camera on Komarock Estate Phase 5A caught a man assaulting a female security guard.
In the viral video, Justin was seen opening the gate before the security guard decided to close it.
Justin appeared to have been enraged by her actions and reacted by slapping her.
He continued beating her until the two moved out of the camera's field of view.
Kenyans who circulated the video had condemned the act and called upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to help put an end to this seemingly emerging trend.
This followed a similar incident on Tuesday, November 23, where a CCTV camera caught a male supervisor, Ibrahim Tiraiya, assaulting a female cashier at Eastmatt Supermarket in Kajiado.
