Moses Kuria Turns on President Uhuru Kenyatta [VIDEO]

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Tuesday, November 26 took a shot a President Uhuru Kenyatta on the day that he received the Building Bridges Initiative report at State House, Nairobi.

Kuria, who was speaking in Kandara, Murang'a County, revealed that he had received the supplementary budget because he was part of the Budget and Appropriations Committee.

The legislator stated that the Executive was mistaken if they thought the MPs would rubberstamp the supplementary budget without proper scrutiny.

"Right now we have the supplementary budget where the government needs to be added Ksh80 billion. We thought the supplementary would be to reduce the budget not to add and I am warning the government that the Parliament that used to rubberstamp issues is long gone," Kuria stated.

He further revealed that the supplementary budget included Ksh16 billion for dispensaries, which are under the management of the counties, forcing him to question whether the devolved units had failed in running them.

He explained that the team had followed the advice of the president regarding developing constituencies.

"We were told that we were the ones in Parliament and the ones approving the funds for projects and thus had the upper hand in the developments projects we funded. On this, we blocked it because it did not have the projects we expected," he continued.

He stated that when he scrutinised the document, he realised that facilities from the area were not among the list of dispensaries to be sponsored and thus the decision to shoot it down.

The MP wanted to prove that the country had a shortage of fools, so the government should not have tried to shortchange Kenyans by not funding projects which are important to them.
