Ruto Allies Vow to Boycott Uhuru's Crucial Meeting over Protocol Breach

Members of the National Assembly allied to Deputy President William Ruto have vowed to boycott President Uhuru Kenyatta's event citing a protocol glitch.

According to a report by People Daily, the team revealed that it was disappointed by the manner in which they received invitations to attend the Bomas meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, arguing that they deserve better.

Some members of the team lead by Laikipia Woman Rep Cate Waruguru claimed that they would not attend the event because they were opposed to the report.

“I cannot attend the meeting since I am against it in its entirety. I am ready to fight it with all my energy,” declared Waruguru.

Kirinyaga Women Rep Purity Ngirici claimed that she received the invitation through a text message from her county commissioner and would not attend. Some lawmakers were angered for receiving the invitation via a text message.

“I am not interested in what the BBI report has,” argued Waruguru.

“I will not attend the launch as I have nothing to do with it. I will be in Parliament doing what I was elected by the people of Soy to do,” added Soy MP Caleb Kositany.

“How can we be invited by county commissioners?” contested Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose.

Others like Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw’a had already made up their minds not to attend the event even before they received the invitation.

“l am not under any county commissioner. I had declined to go to Bomas on the invitation of a county commissioner because this would have taken us back to the old KANU days,” stated Ichungw’a.

Other leaders who have vowed to boycott the event include Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.

Kimani Ngunjiri claimed that he would not attend for fear of being “humiliated the way we were at Sagana State Lodge.”
