Inua Mama chair Alice Wahome on Saturday, November 30, called on Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to take action after the group's event was disrupted by an intruder, who hurled a teargas canister at the crowd.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke she demanded action on the incident that she termed as an act of terrorism targeting the women leaders.
"The attack during our event was an act of terrorism and the Minister for Interior must act immediately.
"He, therefore, must take action against the well-known masterminds of the terror attack and ensure that state machinery is not used by individuals and terrorists to intimidate Kenyans in future," Wahome told our news desk.
She further condemned the incident and claimed that it would not deter the group's spirit of empowering women.
"We are stronger than before and no amount of intimidation or underhand deals to fold Inua Mama will work. Instead, we invite those whose work is to destroy that which they have not built, to watch this space," the MP added.
Ms Wahome also thanked Nominated MP Nasra Sahal who was the host.
"To one Hon Nasra Sahal, you did a good job as our host," she expressed.
The intruder, who was identified as Ali Yasin Mohamed from Kibra, was captured members of the public and handed to the police as he tried to flee from the scene.
He was booked on the offence of being a member of a terrorist group contrary to Section 24 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act of 2012.
