German National Goes Missing, Police Probe Kenyan Wife

Police are probing the disappearance of a German national who was reported missing from his Lunga Lunga home on Tuesday, November 26.

Paul Topf, who is married to a Kenyan wife has been living in Kenya for the last seven years.

Reports by K24 Digital indicated that Neema Nyawira, the missing German's wife, had made a statement at the Shimoni Police Station.

In the statement, Nyawira claimed that Topf had been deported to his country, adding that his relatives had confirmed that she arrived safely.

The 25-year-old alleged that Topf had been picked by four men and a woman who claimed to be from the Immigration Department.

“My sister resides in Germany. We have been communicating since my husband went missing after he was picked from our house a week ago. I had requested my sister to visit Topf’s house in Germany and inquire if he had arrived safely.

"On Monday, December 4, she called to inform me that Topf had landed safely in Germany. I am yet to understand why he is yet to reach me on phone,” Nyawira told the publication.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, however, believe that Topf did not leave the country.

They stated that Topf's phone signal was last tracked to Mwabao Village in Shimoni area, which is near the Kenyan border with Tanzania. 

DCI officials have now contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to help them investigate if Nyawira's claims are true while following other leads.
