Despite the nature of their jobs, these journalists have been able to stay consistent in their careers and grow their families at the same time.

While they feature on our screens almost on a daily basis, their spouses are kept away from the limelight either intentionally or inadvertently.

Here are some of your favourite journalists with their wives:

1. Linus Kaikai and Jacinta Mueni Kaikai

The most memorable story about this couple's love journey must be the fact that Linus Kaikai gave his wife Jacinta Mueni his ATM card just three weeks after they started dating.

The two have been married for seven years having met in 2005 and wedding in 2012. 

Jacinta is an entrepreneur and together, have three children.

2. Alex Mwakideu and Mariam Mwemba Mwakideu

The Head of Radio at Milele FM is married to Mariam Mwakideu who is a nurse by profession. The couple is blessed with three children, all girls.

They welcomed their third child, Naya, on June 21, 2019. 

3. Jeff Koinange and Shaila Koinange

The flamboyant anchor is a household name in Kenya, however, very little is known about his wife. 

The JKLive show host is married to Shaila Koinange, who he has managed to keep from the limelight.

A Standard Media Group publication discloses that Shaila is a Kenyan of Asian origin and the two met in 1986 while auditioning to be flight attendants for Pan American World Airways. 

The couple is blessed with one child, Jamal Mbiyu Koinange who was conceived after a nine-year wait.

4. Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan

Media power couple and co-anchors, Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan are the epitome of couple goals. 

Not only do they present the news together, but they have also produced a number of shows for Citizen TV, their current show - Maria airs every weekday from 7:30 p.m.

The two also host a marriage counselling segment every Saturday at the tail end of the 7 p.m. bulletin where they tackle contemporary marriage issues with Bi Msafwari.

5. Jalang'o and Amina Chao

Milele FM presenter and comedian Felix Odiwuor, alias Jalang'o, held a traditional wedding ceremony with the love of his life Amina Chao on Saturday, 26 October.

Chao works in the department of General Trade Visibility and Events of Safaricom Limited. She is an alumnus of United States International University (USIU).

She has been in a relationship with Jalang'o for four years that bore a daughter named Amani.

6. Ben Kitili and Amina Mude

KTN News anchor Ben Kitili wed his long-time girlfriend Amina Mude in a private wedding at the Attorney General's office on Friday 16, November 2018.

The couple is blessed with two children, Ruby Iman Nzembi Kitili and Roman Hami Kitili.

He regularly posts pictures of his wife on social media taking time to express his appreciation for her.

"A beautiful day when I married the wife of my youth who I promise to love and protect with my all," he posted on his Instagram page on November 21, 2018.

"Happy birthday Mulki, the mother of my babies and le wife extraordinaire," he posted on her birthday on April 3, 2019.

7. Waihiga Mwaura and Joyce Omondi

Citizen TV anchor Waihiga Mwaura and his musician-cum-TV anchor wife, Joyce Omondi are known for their with public acts of affection. On February 14, Waihiga treated his wife to a sweet Valentine's Day surprise after she had signed off on her show Full Circle With Joyce on Switch TV.

The duo is a power couple in their own right ministering together at the same time.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, Waihiga, delivered the main sermon while Joyce led the Praise and Worship during the main service of Deliverance Church in Eldoret on invitation from Bishop George Gichana.

8. Sam Gituku and Ivy Waitherero

Citizen TV news anchor Sam Gituku married his longtime girlfriend, Ivy Waitherero, in a star-studded ceremony held at Deliverance Church in Langata on May 25, 2019.

The two are colleagues as Ivy works as a news director at the same media station.

9. Hussein Mohamed and Malyun Mohamed 

Hussein got married in 2014 to his lover Malyun at a traditional Islamic ceremony held at the Masjid Nur Mosque in South C, Nairobi. 

The couple keeps a low profile hardly sharing any information about their personal lives on social media.

10. Mark Masai and Fiona Nduta

NTV anchor Mark Masai wedded Fiona Nduta in a colourful ceremony on January 2015 at at the Nairobi Chapel, Ngong Road.

Three years after their nuptials the couple welcomed their first child, Nashipae.

11. Dennis Okari and Naomy Joy

Dennis Okari wed Naomy Joy at Ridgeways Baptist Church on February 15, 2019, in an invite-only ceremony.

They, like most media couples, have been able to keep their relationship away from the limelight.

Former KTN investigative journalist John Allan Namu and Sheena Makena are clocking their tenth year together having exchanged vows in September 2010. Their love journey commenced when they were both working at KTN.

The couple has been blessed with four children.
