Ruto's Daughter Admitted to Prestigious School

The daughter of Deputy President William Ruto, Stephanie Jepchumba, has been admitted at the prestigious Kenya School of Law.

A list of the students admitted to undertake the Advocates Training Program in the 2020/21 academic year published on the school's website on Monday, December 16, confirmed the good news for DP Ruto's family.

Stephanie graduated with a degree in law at Strathmore University on June 28, 2019, with her proud father one of the thousands of parents who graced the colourful ceremony.

"Congratulations to Stephanie Ruto on your graduation from Strathmore University with a degree in Law. Your dedication, hard work, self-sacrifice, and God's grace has triumphed. As you join your peers in the legal profession, may you stand with the tenets of justice, fidelity, and impartiality," the deputy president wrote in a heartfelt message to her.

She is now set to undertake the rigorous 18-month program (12 months in-house and 6 months pupilage), at Kenya's only bar school.

After completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Law from a recognized university, students are obliged to attend the Kenya School of Law to be prepared for admission to the Kenyan Bar.

Stephanie's admission to the prestigious institution comes hot on the heels of her elder brother, Nick Ruto, who was admitted to the bar on February 13, 2019, after successfully completing his course at the same school.

DP Ruto was quick to congratulate his son who was duly gazetted as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

"Hearty congratulations Nick Ruto for being admitted to the bar. As you begin a career in the legal profession, may you stand true to your calling as a defender of justice, human rights and an avid campaigner for equality and truth," a proud Ruto tweeted.
