Barmaid Brutally Murders Man Over Ksh60 Bill

Police arrested three people who they believe to be the prime suspects in a case where a man was killed after failing to pay for a drink worth Ksh60 at a bar in Kirinyaga County, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

The man who was identified as Francis Bundi was found dead by residents in Kiandai Village.

According to a Daily Nation report, Bundi had visited a local bar to have one of his usual drink.

Things took a different turn for the 45-year-old when he was unable to pay for his drink.

Witnesses and locals at the scene claimed that a quarrel ensued between Francis and the female attendant before she eventually attacked and kicked him out of the premises.

One witness claimed that the female attendant hired goons to beat the patron to teach him a lesson. Reports further indicated that the slain client was hacked to death.

Another resident identified as Ejidious Kiura told police officers that they found Bundi's dead body, which seemed to have sustained severe head injuries and reported the matter to Kianyaga Police Station.

Kirinyaga East police boss Antony Wanjuu, reassured the locals that the matter is being treated as murder, adding that the suspects would have their day in court.

Bundi's relatives also alleged that he was sodomized before he was killed.

His brother-in-law, Joseph Kagangi, decried, “The victim was brutally killed and we are now crying for justice.”
