MP's Christmas Party Erupts Into Massive Fight Over Food [VIDEO]

The incident which occurred on December 25, took place at the party organized and catered for by area MP Gitonga Murugara.

Kitheega Njiru - a local resident, while speaking to the Daily Nation lamented over the decision by the legislator to provide free meat that left them with injuries.

"Mi nalalamika kwa sababu hii sherehe Gitonga ametuletea hapa ni vita amekuja kufanya watu waumie mikono na miguu. Badala ya kutuletea nyama angetutengenezea barabara, loosely translating to,

I am complaining because this so-called feast organized by Gitonga has just turned into total chaos with several people sustaining hand and leg injuries. He would have been better off signing off on viable development projects as opposed to the free meat.

Njiru went on to reveal that most people had spent the entire day at the venue only to head home on empty bellies as the tussle over the free meat meant survival for the fittest.

The women and children gathered were left in shock as their men ravaged through the sufurias and cooking pans, leaving nothing behind.

In a similar but tragic incident centered around food, back on July 19, 2019,  a 15-year-old boy stabbed his 50-year-old stepfather to death over a plate of food.

The fatal incident in Chepkoin village Belgut Constituency was confirmed by Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Phillip Okello who added that the had minor fled the scene and attempted to take his own life in his hideout in an attempt to evade arrest.

By the time of publishing, the Tharaka legislator was yet to comment on the chaotic scenes that ensued at his party.
