Kalonzo Must Retire Immediately - Gov Mutua [VIDEO]

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, on Thursday, December 26, urged former Vice-President Kalonzo to finally put an end to his dwindling political career by retiring.

Speaking from his office in Machakos, the governor pointed out that it would be a wise move if the former Mwingi North MP quit while he still commanded some respect from some people in Ukambani.

"Leaders who are expired, leaders who have nothing to offer to our people should quit while they are ahead," he stated.

Governor Mutua made his remarks in response to the recent spat between the Wiper party leader and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

"It is time for Kalonzo and Muthama to retire. Everything and everyone has an expiry date," the Machakos governor reiterated.

He went on to reveal a team of six leaders he termed as 'Real Ukambani Leaders', and revealed he was planning a grand meeting to forge a clear path for the people of Ukambani.

The six were identified as Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, her Makueni Counterpart Kivutha Kibwana, Honorables Charles Kilonzo, Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Patrick Musimba and David Musila.

"Together with other like-minded leaders, we will organize a Real Leaders meeting that will bring together professionals and leaders from every village or sub-locations of Kamba communities," he disclosed.

Former Senator Muthama, had on Christmas day, denounced his party leader Kalonzo, who recently stated that he would follow whatever directive came from President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

In response to Muthama's statement, Governor Mutua was quick to point out that the former senator's preference for an alliance with Deputy President William Ruto was an open secret, adding that the people of Ukambani were tired of being auctioned to the highest bidder.

"Our people are tired of being on the sidelines. I am ready to lead the Kamba community to Statehouse whereas Hon. Kalonzo wants us to add on to a Uhuru 2022 strategy and Hon. Muthama wants to con us towards a Ruto 2022 strategy, he stated.

He went on to announce that he was ready to run for the highest office in the land, adding that he had garnered enough support across the country.
