She added that following her high-profile appointment she would work hard to honour her mother.

"I'm still so excited. My mother has been fighting cancer for the last two years and she has always told me to work hard and be self-independent.

"I will work hard in my mother's honour. People have been asking me how I take care of her and work at the same time," she continued.

Additionally, Nadia stated that her parents had played a huge role in inculcating stong work ethics in her life.

"For my father, it's another feather in my cap because he has been so tough on me. My father is a tough man who encourages his children to be independent," she remarked.

The energetic public relations expert was part of the pioneers who took the country by storm in the reality TV series dubbed Ms President on KTN News.

"The first thing I would be championing as a communication expert is trying to encourage the youth to be very clear in how they communicate what they want and how they want to achieve it," she stated.

Prior to the January cabinet reshuffle, Nadia was a tourism officer at the Mombasa County Government.
