Details of Events Leading to Babu Owino's Gun Drama Emerge

Details of events that led to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino allegedly shooting Felix Orinda, known to many as DJ Evolve, at B Club in Nairobi, have emerged.

According to the Standard, witnesses stated that the DJ was shot twice on the neck after banter between him and the MP went wrong.

The witnesses, who were revelers at the club, stated that the two were joking about the size of their guns, when the MP reacted the way he did.

"Babu went into his pocket, pulled out a gun and swiftly shot at him twice," a witness told the publication.

It, however, cannot be established if guns they were discussing were a euphemism for something else and if the DJ was also in possession of a gun.

Some of the witnesses also stated that the DJ would frequent Owino's table and take a list of his preferred songs, which he would play.

Some of the workers at the club stated that the lawmaker frequented the establishment, where he and his friends would frequent for drinks.

Three hours before the regrettable incident took place, Babu is also said to have assaulted a man by the name Mark Okwiri.

“Security dragged me out here and they just started beating me up. I just want to get the CCTV footage of what happened,” Owkiri told Citizen TV.

In a CCTV footage that has since surfaced the internet, the footage shows a man alleged to be the Embakasi East MP shooting a man at the club.

It also shows a man alleged to be the victim being dragged out of the club's elevators.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had announced that the lawmaker would be charged with attempted murder after DJ Evolve, who works at B-Club, was shot in the neck.
