Ex-MP in Gun Drama Demands Uhuru's Apology

A former Member of Parliament who was involved in a gun drama has demanded an apology from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking at a conference on Sunday, February 2, former Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge claimed that Uhuru owed Kenyans an apology for allowing his deputy William Ruto to allegedly carry on with political campaigns.

According to a report published by Citizen TV, the politician argued that Ruto was draining public resources in the process but could not clinch the top seat when 2022 comes.

“There has been massive theft in the country… I would like President Uhuru Kenyatta not to have fear but unearth Ruto’s scandals.

Hakuna deni ya (There is no debt of) 10 years Uhuru and 10 years Ruto…That was a slip of the tongue from the president and it is allowed," stated the former lawmaker.

He further alleged that a section of Mt Kenya leaders had been bribed to ensure Ruto rose into power but urged Uhuru and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to thwart any efforts to derail the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

He also added that Odinga was the best-placed person to take over the mantle from President Uhuru in 2022.

“Raila is the most suitable candidate for president in this country…Uhuru Kenyatta is also the most suitable executive prime minister to finish the projects that he did not do when he was constrained by his deputy,” he continued.

In 2017, the lawmaker caused a scene at a petrol station at Karai along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway after firing in the air to prevent its closure.

The mayhem started when workers hired by Vivo Energy Energy started demolishing a part of the petrol station.

After obtaining court order, Njoroge stormed the venue and fired in the air forcing the people around to scamper for safety.

Among those were caught in the mayhem were then Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Polycarp Igathe who was also the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa) chairman.
