5 Criminals Beat Up Police Officers and Escape while Being Taken to Court in Migori County

Five criminals who were being transported to the Migori High Court escaped on Tuesday after managing to beat up police officers accompanying them.

The four men and a woman are said to have descended on the officers with kicks and blows before they managed to stop the vehicle and escaped in different directions.

Eyewitnesses said that they noticed something was wrong when one of the police officers was kicked out of the moving vehicle.

“The officers ran after the men and left the woman in the vehicle. She calmly walked out, hailed a passing boda-boda rider and rode to freedom towards Migori town with her handcuffs intact,” the witness disclosed.

Migori county police commander David Kirui confirmed the incident stating that some of the officers were injured.

Mr Kirui also disclosed that a manhunt for the suspects who he termed as dangerous had been launched.
