5 Presidents Who Will Visit Kenya In 2016

State House on Tuesday announced the Heads of States set to visit the country in 2016 as a continuation of last year's high profile visits.

Speaking during a press conference, State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu confirmed that five Presidents will be visiting Kenya starting from Wednesday.

According to Esipisu, Nigeria's Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to land at Eldoret International Airport on Wednesday and will be received by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Buhari will then be joined by Somalia's Sheikh Mohamoud before proceeding to the 9th Kenya Rifles, Moi Barracks Eldoret for a special inter-denominational service to honour the gallant Kenya Defence Forces soldiers, who perished in the recent El Adde attack by Al Shabaab militants.

The visits will then be followed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi whose date of arrival is yet to be communicated, after being postponed from February 1.

In his address, Esipisu said the country expected to welcome the leader of South Korea Park Geun-hye at the end of April or early May, and  Kenya is expected to benefit from the Asian country's technology sector.

The President's Spokesman finally confirmed that United Kingdom's David Cameron would arrive in the country in June to honour an invitation by President Kenyatta. According to Mr Manoah, the visit would be a 'culmination of the resetting of relations between Kenya and the United Kingdom' as requested by Cameron.

In 2015, the country received high profile guests including United States President Barrack Obama, Pope Francis, China leader and Italy's Prime Minister. According to Esipisu, the already confirmed tours would enhance the country's international and trade relations.
