5 Things You Should Know About Josephine Kabura

Josephine Kabura Irungu, one of the suspects in the National Youth Service (NYS) scam, has become the talk of the town since her explosive affidavit on the scandal made headline.

However, little is known about her despite the storm she has created by the court documents, linking well known persons to the NYS Sh791 Million graft.

Kenyans.co.ke sought to establish unkown details of Kaburu, whose alleged relationship with former Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru has remained a puzzle to the public.

1. Former village hairdresser

Miss Kabura's first job was at a salon as a hairdresser back at her village in Muranga. This is where she made her first coin after completing high school.

2. Has no college education

Just when you thought it takes a college education to have a proper living, then suddenly you meet Kabura. She did not wait to join college, instead she started earning her living right from high school to become the business woman we now know.

3. Still a youth

At 33 years, she has dealt in huge amounts of money, partly as indicated in her affidavit in which she mentions withdrawing and depositing millions of shillings. However, some of her accounts are reportedly frozen following the scandal at the NYS.

4. Met Waiguru in 2012

Kaburu alleges to have met Anne Waiguru in 2012 and became good friends. During this period, she was reportedly an employee at Kenya Data Netwoks, where she did not work for more than a month.

5. Director of three companies at the Centre of the NYS scam

The young lady's name appears as the director of the three companies among six mentioned in the scandal. The companies include Form Homes Builders, Reinforced Concrete Technologies and Roof & All Trading. Each company is alleged to have received Sh154.9 Million, Sh115.8 Million and Sh77.2 Million respectively from NYS.
