Siaya Senator,James Orengo, is one man who seems to believe in the mantra which states that giving one's son a skill is better than giving him a thousand pieces of gold.

The accomplished lawmaker ensured his children got the very best possible education, and one of his sons -Michael Orengo, is living proof that the apple seldom falls far from the tree.

Having completed 5 years at the Manchester School of Architecture (bachelor's course and masters course respectively), in 2016, the young man went on to rise up the ranks at one of Kenya's oldest and biggest architecture firms, Triad Architects.

Starting out as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant in 2014, Orengo Jnr worked his way up and currently serves as a Graduate Architect at the firm based in Muthaiga.

His daily tasks involve the planning, legislation, and execution of large scale projects undertaken by the iconic firm.

Established back in 1963, the company is responsible for some of Nairobi's most iconic pieces of architecture such as Times Tower, Garden City, Britam Tower and regional headquarter complexes of corporate behemoths like UAP-Old Mutual Group, Barclays Bank Kenya as well as several high-end hotels such as Severin Sea lodge.

Triad's deeply-rooted history in the industry explains why it is one of a handful of firms that have attained ISO certification, a milestone they achieved back in June 2000, going on to be re-certified every year since then.

Michael is right at home at the firm, having announced his unbridled ambition to become the best in the field of architecture.

Senator Orengo's fast-rising architect son is well versed in  Architectural software.

Additionally, he is afforded the opportunity to have practical experience of fieldwork at work, giving some vital lessons when it comes to the technical approach to design and building.

The Siaya Senator has done a great job of keeping his family away from the spotlight that seems to follow him all around.

However, he occasionally posts some of his children on special occasions, such as when his daughter - Zenani Orengo, completed her Master's Degree in Public Administration at New York University back in 2018.

She currently works at UNICEF as an innovation fund associate, and her daily tasks involve  identifying clusters or portfolios of initiatives around emerging technology - so that UNICEF can both shape markets and also learn about and guide these technologies to benefit children.

Her proud father shared a photo of the two of them in her capping gown on her special day.

Orengo's wife Betty, is the sister and only sibling to Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi.
