They say that clothes maketh the man and ODM party leader Raila Odinga is certainly out to make a statement going by his fashion choice during the BBI rallies across the country.
Ever since he made his first appearance at the BBI consultative conference at the Kisii Sports Club on Friday, January 10, in a navy blue kaunda suit, the former Prime Minister has been displaying his unique fashion sense.
The Mombasa rally marked the beginning of a run of several events in which the ODM party leader rocked African print-themed attire.
Several other leaders under the BBI flagship seem to have borrowed a leaf from the former PM, with the likes of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya seen in similar clothing over the last few rallies.
Raila's shirts had a common theme, with national flag-themed strips spotted in most of them.
His green, orange and white chinese-collar caused quite a stir on social media platforms after he took a photo from his hotel room and posted it just before attending the BBI rally on February 29.
Yvonne Odhiambo, a fashion designer, was credited for Raila's black afro-themed piece which went viral in 2019, after the ODM party leader posted a photo of himself from his palatial home. However, the identity of his current designer is yet to be announced.
Back in 2017, Raila and his National Super Alliance (NASA), co-principals - Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, and Kalonzo Musyoka were the talk of the town when they were made an appearance at a rally spotting matching outfits.
The white shirts with hints of the national flag were designed by Shiyenze Khasoha, a female Kenyan designer in Nairobi.
Shiyenze has dressed an extensive list of media personalities and leaders such as Larry Madowo and Rashid Abdala, as well as Raila's entourage.
Raila is yet to publicise the designer responsible for his wardrobe overhaul, with the afro-themed shirt emblazoned with golden brown prints, one of the most notable from his vast array.
