An unidentified courageous man on Saturday, February 29, publicly took it to himself to save residents in Langata area from a snake that tried to access their rental residence.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the huge python was trying to get through a mesh wire fence when residents started milling at the point.
At this point, the man held it from its tail and started pulling it behind bringing it to a footpath farther from the residences.
The rather frightening moment to many left many cheering to the bravery depicted by the man over the python.
The residents could be heard shouting from behind where they alleged that the snake had been ravaging on their pets.
“The python just swallowed a cat a few minutes ago,” a resident was heard saying in the video.
Even after the snake tried slithering back to the fence, the man got hold of it and ensured it was at a distance far from the residents where it clung on a small tree along the pathway.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, an official from the Kenya Forest Service confirmed the incident where he noted that efforts were underway to bring back the snake to its natural habitat.
“The snake may have slithered away from the vast National Park and managed to cross over through a porous part of the park fence.
“Information reached the KFS officials and all efforts are in place to ensure the residents are safe from any animal attacks,” remarked the official.
The official also noted that no person had been injured by the python that is classified as a dangerous but non-poisonous snake.
Nairobi National Park is a uniquely positioned park in the City making it an attraction of many local and foreign tourists.
The park is located approximately 7 kilometres south of the city centre.
