Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga is well known for his exploits in the fields of law and for having served as Chief Justice between 2011 and 2016.

Mutunga is a father to four, the most popular of them being stepsiblings Wallimohammed 'Al-Amin' Mohammed and Shamilla Mutunga.

Al-Amin Mutunga was named after his father's best friend the late Al-Amin Mazrui, an internationally acclaimed academic and author.

Al Amin's interests from a young age lay in the realm of photography and videography.

Speaking to The Standard in February 2019, he intimated that growing up, CJ Mutunga gave them the leeway to pursue whatever they wanted to instead of constraining them to Law.

That being the case, he enrolled at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) where he pursued an undergraduate degree in Business and Information technology.

It was after his studies that he started work as a videographer at the non-profit Pawa 254, where he explains that he does photography as a means to achieve social change.

Mutunga is an authority in his own right, such that when Canon Europe organised a workshop in Kenya led by renowned photojournalist and Canon Master Gary Knight, Al Amin was amongst the panelists charged with selecting the workshop participants.

Some of Mutunga's photos have also made their way to the local dailies, most notable being the Daily Nation on March 18, 2016, where CJ Mutunga was handing over trial files of Mau Mau hero Dedan Kimathi to his wide Mukami Kimathi.

For him, Instagram is his key platform for self-expression.

Under the handle Chief_Mohazzie, he has a series of pictures that he has taken not only in the country but also across the borders in countries like Uganda and Zimbabwe.

According to his Behance profile, a platform for creatives to showcase their work portfolio, Mutunga speaks four languages, being proficient in English and Swahili and an intermediate speaker in French and Arabic.
