He urged the leader to stop hiding disclosing that he was ready to sit down with him one on one
Gachoka has been accused of carrying a lopsided show after critics noted that he rarely invites leaders allied to the DP as guests on his television programme.
KTN News's Point Blank show host Tony Gachoka, on Monday, March 9, accepted Deputy President William Ruto's challenge, by launching a scathing attack.
Speaking in Meru on Sunday, March 8, the angry DP lashed out at a section of leaders accusing them of targetting politicians allied to him.
He, therefore, challenged them to face him directly and iron out issues instead of targeting his workers or political allies.
“I have no apologies to make to anybody. And I want to tell those public officers using those offices that soon and very soon we will call them out. They must stop the nonsense they are engaged in making telephone calls to leaders blackmailing people left right and center.
“If they are men enough let them come forward and face me. Let them not hide behind shadows and telephone calls,” Ruto stated.
Taking on Twitter, Gachoka declared that he has never been afraid of the DP and proceeded to make startling accusations against him.
"DP William Ruto following your challenge, Tony Gachoka, I am man enough to face you any day. You're a corrupt, dishonest & vindictive man who has amassed a fortune by looting State Resources.
"Your history of bloodletting in Kenya is known, so take it from me, my Friend, I don't fear you!", argued Gachoka.
His sentiments in Meru echoed those he had made in Nakuru during the burial of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei where he accused Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti of being used to settle political scores.
"I want to tell the DCI, do your work as police officers. Stop commenting on politics... the DCI is being used to undermine my office
"I am aware that there is a huge scheme that has been orchestrated to demean and to destroy my office and to ensure that I do not get anywhere...The blood of this innocent Kenyan will not go scot-free," he stated at the time.
“Leaders in Kenya today are being treated to intimidation, blackmail, threats, that they will be taken to this or that court because of their political affiliation. When did Kenya sink that low to try and use the criminal justice system to perpetuate a certain political agenda or narrative,” he later lamented in Meru.
