"It was a church service for me, my seven children, the househelp and my mother. We were 12 members. At home, we have a 12-year-old boy, who is in form one called Pastor Young. and he was the one who led the service,

"The government said that we should not go to churches but not that we should not worship. We decided as a family that we would have a session of worship ensuring that we keep, but adhered to the social distancing parameters. My mother is also a good preacher," he stated.

He further disclosed that the service, which lasted for 2-hours, was programmed just like a typical mass.

"We started with patriotic songs, then we went to praise and worship and then all of us had to read a verse in the context of the global pandemic,

"We identified as a family that we have three evils as a country; corruption, poverty, and sorcery, Kenyans should turn away from those three evils so that God redeems our land," he added.

In the video clip that the lawmaker shared on his social media account, it was visible that the family had maintained a one-meter distance as directed by the state.

Churches across the country were largely empty as faithful opted to follow the services online as well as on TV screen after the state-directed that no more than 12 people should create a gathering.

On the same day, two preachers, Paul Nzungula and Peter Kimani, were arrested in Changombe area, Kitengela while preaching to an empty church.

What attracted the police was the fact that a crowd had formed outside the church as the two preached over loud public address system.
