On Friday evening, April 3, former Citizen TV news anchor Julie Gichuru surprised Willis Raburu during the 10 Over 10 show with a touching message.

Raburu, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, April 1, was hosting the show when his co-host, DJ Cross the Master, told him that there was a video he had recorded during the week that he wanted the news anchor to watch.

A worried Raburu waited patiently as the video was cued. Seconds later, Gichuru appeared with a heartwarming message to the ever-bubbly entertainer.

"Happy birthday Willis, I remember the first time we met and spoke, I believe we were in the newsroom at Citizen TV talking about your stories and right from the beginning, it was so clear that you had so much passion for your work.

"Your heart is in the things that you do and that's such a special thing, never lose that. Willis, this life can be really really tough and the thing we have to remember is that there is always light at the end of the tunnel," Julie expressed.

"Although the cloud might be passing, we will see the sunshine again. Never lose your light, you have such a bright light. Never lose hope, never lose faith. I'm wishing you a wonderful year ahead and please stay safe," she added as Willis got emotional.

In response, Willis stated; "For her to do this for me on my birthday and in the year I am celebrating my 10th year in media! I just....sigh thank you."

On his part, Willis' co-host emphasized how much the production team loved and admired him for his wonderful personality.

The news anchor has had to endure tough times after he and his wife Marya Raburu, lost their daughter.

The couple was expecting their first baby after being married for three years when the fatal incident took place.

The news anchor had to take a break from work to get through the trying experience.

Raburu and Marya are famous for their vlog dubbed Lit To Be Fit on YouTube.
