Konshens Reveals Surprise for Kenyans During Covid-19

Jamaican Dancehall sensation Konshens is set to headline a show for Kenyans around the world on Friday, April 17 dubbed '254 Quarantine Dancehall Fest'.

The Gal dem sugar hit-maker is expected to perform live from Jamaica from 11 p.m. Kenyan time, with the show to be streamed on Youtube, Instagram and Facebook as well as Citizen TV's Friday night entertainment show 10 Over 10 hosted by Willis Raburu.

Commendably, donations will be welcome throughout the show with the funds to be channelled towards the purchase of face masks and clean water tanks for Senye Medical Clinic located in Soweto East, Kibra Constituency.

Konshens, who has a huge fan-base in Kenya thanks to several hits and a number of past performances in the country, acknowledged the love shown to him by Kenyan Dancehall fans throughout his career.

He explained that he hoped to expand the initiative to help families in different African countries.

"Kenya has been very good to me. I will do what I can. All Kenyans Globally Join me this Friday lets vibe!

"And donate to a very worthy Cause. To my other African families, we just getting started. We gonna figure this thing out together step by step," the artist wrote on Twitter.

Konshens had earlier spent time joking with his Kenyan fans as he shared an image of his face photo-shopped onto a Kenyan national Identification Card.

His performance on 10 over 10 was confirmed by Willis Raburu who promised ardent viewers a special edition of the show.

Konshens first performed in Kenya in 2011 and has stated in multiple past interviews his admiration for the popularity of Reggae and Dancehall culture in the country.

He was featured on a remix of the popular single Figa by Kenyan Gengetone group Ethic Entertainment in 2019, further solidifying his ties to the country.

The artiste was last in Nairobi in September 2019 when he performed to a sold-out crowd at the Ngong' Race Course.
