Digital Strategist Denis Itumbi on Wednesday, May 13, shared his thoughts on the expulsion of five senators from Jubilee for allegedly snubbing the Parliamentary Group meeting convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, May 11 at State House.
On his Twitter page, Itumbi stated that despite the suspension of the senators, the Jubilee Party did not have the luxury of choosing other senators as they pleased.
He alleged that there was a list of Nominated Senators that had been gazetted before the 2017 General Election.
"Even if you succeed to remove Nominated Senators on the nonsensical grounds so disclosed, You do not have the luxury to bring whoever you want.
"The constitution and the law has already made that decision. Your alternative is already on a list gazetted long before elections," Itumbi stated.
Further, he warned that Deputy President William Ruto's allies would not be intimidated by the current happenings in the Jubilee Party.
Some of the nominated senators that were affected by the suspension included; Iman Falhada Dekow, Waqo Naomi Jillo, Prengei Victor, Mary Yiane and Millicent Omanga.
The senators were accused of gross insubordination and misconduct.
Their suspension came days after Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika were ousted as the Majority Leader and Majority Whip respectively.
In a social media poll that was done by political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on Wednesday, May 13, the analyst asked Kenyans who between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, betrayed the other first.
The tally had 38,861 responses, with 40.9% of the voters stating that it was the president who betrayed the DP first and 30.6% of the respondents stating that it was vice versa.
