American civil rights activist and poet Maya Angelou once said that love recognises no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.

On Saturday, May 16, Citizen TV's sultry-voiced presenter Lillian Muli seemed to be in a Maya Angelou state of mind, following her decision to post a lengthy love note on her Instagram page, addressing it to celebrity Pastor Robert Burale.

"Where do I begin my darling friend. There is so much I want to say to you. Thank you for never giving up on me. You always know when something is wrong with me and even on my moody days when you call and I don't pick up you never give up on me. You have prayed with and for me for the longest time. You know my deepest secrets. For the longest time, people said you and I would be good together but my Love for you is beyond what human beings could ever describe.

"It is pure and genuine; I Love you like a brother and you are one of my best friends; I wish you nothing but the best. May the Lord's favour always be upon you and those you love. Happy Birthday, Bob," reads her post in part.

Unknown to most, these two inseparable friends actually worked together at some point. The stylish Pastor Burale was a resident panelist on the cancelled Citizen TV show Fashion Watch, which hosted by the effervescent Muli.

The outspoken man of the cloth also serves as an event host, motivational speaker, image consultant, marketing strategist and has dabbled in acting as well - he is what you'd call a Jack of all trades.

Back in 2012, Pastor Burale met an angel - or that's at least how he described his wife to be, Rozinah Mwakideu (yes, she is Milele FM's Alex Mwakideu's sister), during a past interview with Eve magazine.

"I met my ex-wife at a Gospel concert in 2012. She has the voice of an angel. Everybody said we were rushing it but we were in love," he stated.

After a blissful 5 months of coffee dates, hand-holding and declarations of the Romeo and Juliet kind of love, the two got hitched at a colourful event.

However, one year and two days later, his marriage crumbled and they were soon divorced.

"I tried to hide it for a while. For four months, I was still putting on my ring. It was hard to pretend because I was a preacher," Pastor Burale elaborated during an interview.

On her part, Rozinah claimed that the relationship had turned sour, going on to make a few allegations while speaking to Radio Jambo's Masawe Jappani.

Despite the distress following his divorce, Pastor Burale has gone on to become one of the most accomplished and sought-after public speakers in the country.

An alumnus of UK's De Mont Forte University where he graduated with a degree in business and marketing, the Pastor's exceptional oratory skills and dazzling wordplay has endeared him to thousands, including Citizen TV's bubbly presenter.

He is the founder of  'Naked Truth' - a talk show aimed at inspiring young people stuck in the rut of disappointment and depression. The show gives such individuals a voice and a place to vent.

The motivational speaker is also a father, he ever-so-often shares selfies of himself and his beautiful daughter, Lexie Burale.

Notably, he once confessed to having gone through a phase in his life when he used to date multiple women at a time, getting roped into heavy debts among other vices.

He even wrote a book From the Strip Club to the Pulpit' detailing his journey through campus, his struggles and his successes.
