The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Saturday, June 13, announced the resumption of motor vehicle inspection services.
In a statement by the institution's Director-General George Njao, the services will be offered in adherence to social distancing rules stipulated in the Covid-19 prevention measures.
"The Authority has put in place measures to ensure social distancing, emphasised on hygiene practices and provided necessary personal protective equipment to those involved in the inspection process," Njao stated.

The inspections will be carried out in phases as already in phase one, a number of taxis, pick-ups, and vans that had booked have been inspected.
The authority's operational continuity plan directs that in Phase 2, all public service vehicles and heavy commercial vehicles shall undergo inspection.
"In order to support our customers and prevent further inconvenience, the Authority informs the public that the bookings that were set to expire on May 30, 2020, have been adjusted to expire on July 31, 2020," the notice explained.
Motor vehicle owners who are yet to book for inspection are required to immediately book through their TIMS accounts.
The was no word yet on other services that were also suspended - that is collection of logbooks, Public Service Vehicle badges, number plates, Smart driving license and driver testing
NTSA had in March 2020, indefinitely suspended the services which require physical attendances at their centers across the country.
The authority explained that the measures taken were in line with the directives from the National Emergency and Response Committee on minimizing the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Authority however asked members of the public to continue applying for Smart DL as the service is available online.
“Verification and approval of online service applications shall not be affected. We urge our customers to verify the status of their applications within the individual TIMS accounts,” read the statement.An image of citizens getting services at NTSA officesNTSA
