As the country continues to battle with the Covid-19 pandemic, the police service has not been spared.

On Saturday, June 20, Nairobi County Police Commander Philip Ndolo confirmed that three officers who were conducting contact tracing of Covid-19 patients had tested positive for the virus.

Stating that the officers were stationed in different stations, Ndolo revealed that one officer voluntarily took himself for testing at Mbagathi Hospital.

He further revealed that the other two had gone for a check-up after rounding up contacts of Covid-19 patients when they were found to be positive.

All three officers were isolated at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital for monitoring.

It has now been directed that all officers who came from the same institution recently to be put under self-quarantine,” said part of a memo sent to all police commanders dated April 9.
