Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's pronouncement about his position in Kenya's future administration has attracted a barrage of comments on his abrasiveness.

Owino took to social media on Sunday, June 28, to post a photo of himself working from his office with a short caption that appeared to rub Kenyans the wrong way.

"I am the future of the great Republic of Kenya," posted the Embakasi East MP as a number of netizens were quick to comment on the statement.

"How can a [expletive] be the future of Kenya? If only the system was fair and just. Ask Waluke where he is and that is where you belong," read one of the comments from the post.

Babu Owino was criticised after he allegedly shot DJ Evolve at B-Club, a high-end entertainment join in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate on Friday, January 17.

The MP was freed on a Ksh10 million cash bail which the court said would be used to settle the medical bills incurred by DJ Evolve.

Others blasted the MP in his post noting that he has failed as a legislator hence cannot be the future of Kenya as he claims.

Some of the comments urged him to let Kenyans decide if indeed he was the future of Kenya instead of him blowing his own horn.

"Continue consoling yourself Mr, what you did is Unforgiveable, it's even worse that you got away with it, trust me even getting an MCA seat won't be easy as you might be trying to imagine...leadership wants people who have total control of themselves, something you lack," commented a Twitter user.

The former Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) leader has on a number of occasions stated his ambitions of running for Presidency in the 2027 General Elections.

"I will be vying for a parliamentary seat in 2017, then governorship in 2022 and the presidency in 2027," noted Babu in an interview back in 2016.
