The inquiry into Tecra Muigai's mysterious death took a new twist on Sunday, July 19, after details emerged regarding an unidentified Dutch woman who was allegedly involved with Omar Lali - the late Keroche heiress', Tecra Muigai's, boyfriend.

Lali was, on July 16, acquitted of the murder charges when the Director of Public Prosecutions entered a nolle prosequi, thereby discontinuing the intended murder case, telling the court that the DPP's preference was in form of a public inquest into Tecra’s death.

Appearing before Garsen Law Courts, Lali could not contain his emotions as the judge read out the final verdict.

According to the latest reports, the mysterious European national shared a child with Lali, signaling a love triangle.

To throw the detectives even further down an endless pit of possibilities, the Dutch woman is said to have rented out a house a mere 6km away from Lali and Tecra's residence in Lamu.

However, it is yet to be established whether, the recenty acquitted, Lali even met the Dutch woman during any of the 38 days during which Tecra stayed with him in Lamu.

So far, investigators have established that it was highly unlikely that the Keroche Heiress, as per the narrative shared by Lali, fell down a flight of stairs.

Government Chief Pathologist Johansen Oduor observed that the post-mortem results show multiple head injuries which were not explainable in a case of falling down the stairs scenario.

Toxicology experts helped cast even more doubt on the stairs' theory, as no alcohol was found in her system, effectively eliminating the chances of her losing her footing and tumbling down the stairs.

Lali was identified as a person of interest after an eyewitness told investigators that Tecra's boyfriend asked her to rub off blood stains at the bottom of the apartments' staircase, which he claimed to have come from a minor accident.

Yusuf Abubakar, Lali's lawyer, said that he truly believed his client was innocent.

However, the latest reports may indicate that there could be more than meets the eye, with the Dutch woman allegedly travelling to Naivasha sometime between January and February 2020, while Lali and Tecra were also in town.
