Public Service Commission Advertises 855 Jobs

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised 855 jobs to Kenyans across various government Ministries and State Departments.

Those interested in the jobs are encouraged to apply through the Public Service Commission official website or their job extension website.

Kenyans have until 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, to apply for the jobs listed by the commission.

The opportunities range from senior roles in ministries and state departments to junior, entry-level positions that most youth can qualify for. 

Applicants are warned that details of academic and professional certificates not obtained by closure of the advert should not be included.

They are further warned against canvassing or provide false information during the application process which could lead to automatic disqualification

Shortlisted candidates shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, academic and professional certificates and transcripts during interviews.

Ministries hiring include Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade, Agriculture, Transport, Devolution, ICT, Sports, Education, Environment, Energy, Interior and Public Service.

One of the most high-payng jobs advertised includes Secretary, Devolution Affairs with a salary range of Ksh169,140 to Ksh324,430.

To apply for jobs at PSC one needs to register an account by providing details such as ID or Passport number and an email address.

Some of the benefits for working for the government include paid holidays, paid sick leave, Life Insurance/Disability, Education/Training/Tuition and having a pension plan.

Once you identify the job you want to apply for, you will be required to fill in your details in an online form and fill in required data such as Personal Details, Qualifications, Experience, Current Registration, Other courses, Referees and Other details. 

The job advertisement comes at a time when most sectors of the economy are slashing salaries and even laying off their employees as businesses have been greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Some sectors are still hiring including Manufacturing, Deliveries Companies, Digital Marketors, Online Coaching and Learning, Information Technology and the Health Sector.
