An emotional father who lost his daughter on August 7, 2020, in the Nairobi Central Business District, is requesting Kenyans help him trace her.

Joseph Koko narrated that on the said day, he and his 13-year-old daughter, Monicah Atieno, had travelled from Umoja estate to Nairobi CBD, to make travel arrangements to Mombasa County.

On getting to the city, the duo went to Nacico Chambers, and Koko left his daughter with a friend as he went to make travel arrangements.

"My daughter followed me but I told her to go back and bring my bag. After she came back with the bag, I asked her to go back to the cyber and wait for me," Koko stated.

He would go to another cyber that had better internet speed and spend less than an hour, trying to get a bus ticket online. Afterward, he left for the cyber where he had left his daughter.

However, she was not there.

"On asking around, I was told that my daughter had followed me and was not there but I couldn't bring myself to believing the story since she always followed my instructions," he stated.

"I then decided to go and search outside the Kenya National Archives, hoping that she would be back soon, but when I went back to the cyber, she was not there," he narrated.

Sensing danger, he expanded the search to Umoja estate but she was nowhere to be found.

Aoko would report the matter on August 7, 2020, at the Central Police Station in Nairobi, under the OB number 102/07/08/2020.

The police have, however, not found find leads and Aoko has been using social media to look for his missing daughter.

"Detectives have reviewed CCTV footage and interviewed several parties including the missing girl’s parents and the people at the cyber but no leads have been found yet," Central Police Station OCDP Mark Wanjala stated.

It has been one and a half months and Aoko is requesting Kenyans to help him find his missing daughter.
