Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Friday, October 2, responded to a statement relayed by Jubilee secretary general in a press briefing at the headquarters on Friday, October 2.

Tuju had stated that the party's National Management Committee had recommended to the National Executive Committee that Ruto should be suspended as the Deputy Party Leader after he opened the parallel Jubilee Asili offices.

In rejoinder, however, Murkomen stated that it was not possible for the party to suspend Ruto as the Deputy Party Leader.

He quoted the Jubilee Constitution in article 33, which provides that the president of the Republic of Kenya shall be the Party leader and the Deputy President the Deputy Party leader.

"No person or organ can change that unless the Constitution is amended or Conduct National Elections. Treat Tuju’s lamentations just like a donkey breaking wind!" Murkomen stated.

Other politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto also weighed in on the matter with Jubilee deputy secretary general Caleb Kositany insinuating that powerful government officials were behind the move.

"Since when does a visit to party HQ  by the Deputy party leader, become disrespectful to the party leader?" Kositany posed.

Further, Kositany called for party elections.

On the other hand, Nakuru senator Susan Kihika rained insults on the  the party secretary general.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, political analyst Nafula Kisiangani stated that there was nothing in politics that happened accidentally.

"There is a lot of unconstitutional  things that are happening, I do not think that removing Ruto be a casual exercise and from my end I feel like the party leaders are just trying to send very serious signals," she stated.

She hoped that Kenyans would not suffer from the back and forth going on between the two leaders who were heading the government.

"They have to be very mindful of Kenyans and they should not forgotten that they are not just any other political party but the current rulling party," she stated.

Murkomen's stated came moments after Tuju also banned the DP using the party headquarters to operationalise his 2022 campaign.

"The DP, a self-declared 2022 presidential candidate, will not be allowed to use the party headquarters as a centre of operationalization for his campaigns and for intimidation," the Jubilee secretary general said.
