Holy Ghost Coptic Church founder, Father John Pesa on Wednesday, October 14 claimed that he has received death threats after a blunder at Deputy President William Ruto's event.

Pesa hit the headlines after his biblical reference mistake that went viral as he claimed King Solomon killed Goliath, while in actual sense it was David. A video of the incident went viral, with netizens making memes and jokes about it.

While addressing the media, Pesa revealed that he has since received death threats after the blunder and claimed that his life is now in danger.

He blamed the mistake on his old age and emphasized his vast knowledge in religion, calling out those who ridiculed him.

"The remarks will now be a ring back tone, people are saying that I did not read the bible thoroughly but I'm now old. I started reading the Bible when I was young and I still read it.

"It is David who killed Goliath, I'm saddened that people are tarnishing my name, people should respect religion," noted Pesa.

He went on to explain how he injects the funds he gets to build his church that has grown since being founded in 1947 after a split from the Roman Catholic Church.

Pesa also hit out at church leaders who were accepting money from politicians but instead not using the funds to benefit the church.

"Why are church leaders collecting money, you see a Bishop fundraising for a tractor but it instead benefits him by operating on his own farm," he added.

According to Taifa Leo, the priest also claimed that he was only paid KSh10,000 for the summon in Ruto's home.

He added that he was only left with Ksh.4,000 after spending Ksh.6,000 to fuel his car from Sugoi to Kisumu.
