Content creator Abel Mutua and his wife Judy Nyawira wowed their fans on Friday evening, October 23, after they shared their love story on Mutua's show on Youtube, Stories of my life.
The couple, alumni of the Kenya School of Mass Communication, narrated that they met at the college when Nyawira had just joined the institution and Mutua was in his final year.
"My boy squad and I were relaxing at a popular place in school called jobless corner when Nyawira passed by. Most of the boys had tried to woo her but none was able to get her attention and when I got that information, I decided to take up the challenge and try my luck," Mutua narrated.
At the time, Nyawira, who was from a small village in Kirinyaga County called Kibirigwi, was in a relationship.
Having come from the village, Nyawira didn't recognise that Mutua and some of her other school mates were known actors featured on Citizen TV's Tahidi High.
She didn't understand the frenzy among her peers whenever they saw the actors around the school but eventually, she also came to realise that they were a big deal.
"Abel and I started spending a lot of time together and a girl who knew my boyfriend would tell him that there was a man I was hanging around a lot in school. Although our relationship had already started being shaky, the new information, made it worse," Nyawira narrated.
Finally, they broke up.
"I later came to realise that the reason we didn't work could have been because of our age difference, he was 28, I was 19," she added.
It is then that Mutua and Nyawira began their relationship journey began.
Nyawira got pregnant during her final year at the college and though the couple was not prepared, Mutua visited her home and informed her mother of his intentions to raise the child.
"We carried out four pregnancy tests to be certain of the outcome. I cried the entire day and just like that at the age of 22 and Abel at 23, we realised that we would be parents," Nyawira stated.
Mutua also paid her final year's school fees at the college. 12 years later, they are happily married and thriving in their various careers.
The couple wedded in 2015 in a ceremony attended by many celebrities, including Mutua's colleague, Phillip Karanja and Mother-In-Law actress, Catherine Kamau, who were the best couple.
