Sixty people were injured in a road accident that occurred along Baragoi-Maralal road in Samburu on Saturday afternoon.

The sixty were travelling in a lorry heading to a political rally.

According to witnesses, the injured had been approached and asked to attend a rally going in the area before the accident occurred.

"People were busy in their farms, they had to abandon what they were doing after a lorry approached abruptly asking them to attend a political rally," Jackson Lesila, a resident narrated.

One of the victims Joseph Longu'on, said the driver lost control after approaching a corner two kilometres from where they boarded the vehicle.
