Former Nairobi Education CEC Janet Ouko has been re-appointed to the same role by current acting Governor Benson Mutura.

Ouko had stepped down from the Education docket in January 2019 after falling out with former Governor Mike Sonko.

Mutura appointed Ouko to take over the Education docket from Lucia Mulwa who has been transferred to the Agriculture division.

Former Makadara parliamentary aspirant Brian Weke was also appointed by the new county boss as the legal advisor to his office.

Other changes include the appointment of Jarius Musumba as the Acting County Secretary and Paul Mutungi as the Chief of Staff.

Ouko resigned in a huff  two years ago without giving reasons.

“I wish to thank you most sincerely for the opportunity to serve in your government as an executive committee member. I hereby tender my resignation effective January 31, 2019.

"I have decided to resign so I can seek other opportunities. It has been a wonderful one year and two months and I would now like to pursue other interests that will grow my career and help my personal development," her statement read at the time.

Political talk indicated that Ouko had hinted at a tough working environment under Sonko's tenure.

In a radio interview a few months later, Ouko claimed that Sonko was a serial blackmailer.

She further argued that Sonko was rigid in nature, and very difficult to work with.
