Residents of Kamasia Village, Nandi county have decried insecurity after they discovered the body of a 61 year old woman dumped in a forest, after she was raped and later killed.
The woman is said to be gang raped by unknown assailants who fled after committing the heinous crime.
Despite being frail from her advanced age, the deceased also had disabilities.
According to Citizen News, the husband revealed that the incident most probably took place at around 7 PM when the lady was going home.
Her body was taken to Kapsabet Referral Hospital mortuary.
The incident comes barely a week after another woman was attacked and raped in the same area.
Residents in the area are now asking the government to enforce security in the area in the wake of increased insecurity which has left them fearing for their lives.
