A picture made rounds on Friday, January 2021 of cows in a truck that were burnt in alleged dynasty, hustler wars.

The hustler movement is associated with Deputy President William Ruto who has on several occasions stated that his agenda is about Wanjiku (the ordinary Kenyan) and not about tribal politics.

The post which was circulated by various individuals on social media with the claim that innocent lives were at risk as political temperatures in the country continued to rise. 

"The Hustlers vs Dynasty narratives is an excuse for lynching innocent Kenyans. Both narratives must be outlawed.

"The bodabodas burned this lorry plus the cows inside it in the name of hustlers vs dynasties for the simple reason that one of their colleagues was injured by the lorry," embattled Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot noted. 

Kenyans.co.ke has traced the photo to a news report in Nigeria where the incident occurred on January 13, 2021.

Nigerian media outlets explained that a mob has set ablaze a truck loaded with 25 cows for killing a boy in Saki, Oyo State. 

The area police spokesperson Olugbenga Fadeyi confirmed the incident, adding that the boy died at the hospital.

“This young boy was riding a motorcycle and was hit by a truck transporting cows out of Saki.

"An angry mob set the truck ablaze before we could get in touch with the police to avoid more damage. We commiserate with the family of the deceased," Spokesman of Saki Town Development Association, Adekunle Lawal was quoted by Nation online, a Nigerian outlet reported.

Investigations had been launched into the matter. 

Instances of boda boda riders causing destruction to other motorists after a major accident have been reported in Kenya. 

On January, 14, boda boda riders blocked a section of Outer ring road in Nairobi after one of their own was knocked down by a lorry on the road.
