UPDATE Sunday,7,2021: The persons with disabilities have issued a press statement concerning Junet Mohammed's remarks concerning Isaac Mwaura.

The organisation of Persons with disabilities have come out to strongly condemn the remarks of the minority chief whip of the National Assembly and demands that he should immediately withdraw and apologise for the derogatory remarks.

According to the organisation, Junet's remarks is an abuse on the dignity of persons with disability collectively since an abuse on one of them on the basis of disability is an abuse to all of them.

The organisation further stated that, such statements like those issued by Suna East MP have made people believe that the body parts of people with albinism can make people rich therefore leading to the loss of lives of people with Albinism for money rituals.

In the press statement the organisation noted that they stand strongly behind their leader, Isaac Mwaura, who deserves to be accorded the respect and dignity that he deserves just like any other leader.

Suna East Member of Parliament, Junet Mohammed, claimed that nominated senator Isaac Mwaura ‘bleached’ his skin so that he can be nominated to parliament.

Junet claimed that Mwaura, who has albinism, bleached his skin to secure ODM and Jubilee nomination slots to represent people with disability in Parliament, alleging that he was not born with the condition as he claims.

"It seems he bleached himself so he could secure himself nomination to the National Assembly first through the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), then Jubilee and now he has decamped to the Wheelbarrow movement," said Junet.

The vocal lawmaker made this remarks during a Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) popularization campaign on Saturday, February 6, in Turkana County.

The minority chief whip further sensationally claimed that he would like the constitution amended so that all white men can be considered as people with disability.

Kenyans condemned Junet's remarks terming him a loose mouth. Others, however, saw no problem with Junet’s remarks.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) condemned the remarks and warned of a possible action against Junet in a brief statement on Twitter.

"Such utterances are demeaning to persons living with disability, if left unattended it may trigger division between persons of different colors. The commission is considering the matter with the view of taking appropriate action," NCIC said via Twitter.

"Isaac Mwaura is a political terrorist & fraudster ... Junet was right to call him out for using disability card in his political shenanigans and subterfuge... He incited Githurai Youth to stone Baba ... His insults of Baba are X-rated ... I have no sympathy for Mwaura,’’ said advocate Donald B Kipkorir.

"Junet You need to apologize to persons living with disability. My humble request as a brother. So do it before too long.’ Said Kiambu ex-governor Kabogo.

“Oh... that serves Mwaura better. Mwaurano longer represents the disabled. He nowadays represents Ruto as if Ruto is disabled.’’ Said a Kenyan by the name James Ole Mugo.

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana said, “@JunetMohamed, @TheODMparty, Baba (Raila Odinga) has consistently supported persons with disability. He was very vocal on this in the 90s at Bomas. This I must say of him. Therefore, his supporters must be extremely careful about what they say about PWDs.

Junet’s remarks came days after Isaac Mwaura faced Jubilee disciplinary committee following summons issued against him over alleged disloyalty to the party.
